At Armour Coat Surfaces, we stand behind the work we do. Your new surface is an investment, and we want you to feel confident knowing it’s protected. Our warranty is here to give you peace of mind by clearly explaining what’s covered, what isn’t, and how you can help keep your surface looking its best. We keep it simple and transparent, so you know exactly what to expect.

Armour Coat Surfaces Limited Warranty Agreement

 

This Limited Warranty Agreement (“Agreement”) is provided by Armour Coat Surfaces (“Company”) to the original purchaser (“Client”) of resurfacing products and services, subject to the terms and conditions below.

 

 

1. Warranty Coverage

 

1.1 Term: Armour Coat Surfaces warrants that its resurfacing installations will meet the specified requirements outlined in Canadian Master Specification (CMS) Section 07 14 00 for a period of 10 years from the date of substantial completion.

 

1.2 Waterproofing Performance: The waterproofing system is warranted to resist the penetration of water, except where failures are the result of:

    •    Structural failures of the building, or

    •    Movement of the structure due to temperature changes (not considered structural failure).

 

1.3 Repairs: For warranty repair work, Armour Coat Surfaces will remove and replace materials concealing waterproofing where necessary.

 

 

2. Exclusions & Limitations

 

This warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by, or resulting from:

    •    Improper surface slope or drainage.

    •    Structural movement, substrate shifting, or building settlement.

    •    Abuse, neglect, or lack of proper maintenance.

    •    Acts of nature, including but not limited to flooding, earthquakes, or extreme weather.

    •    Use of incompatible materials (rubber, pressure-treated wood, cedar, etc.).

    •    Damage from dragging heavy objects, burns, or impact.

 

Note: Armour Coat Surfaces reserves the right to conduct performance tests on any material claimed to be defective prior to any repair or replacement.

 

 

3. Client Responsibilities

 

This warranty is valid only if the Client follows the Deck Disclosure & Care Instructions .Failure to follow these guidelines will void the warranty.

 

 

4. Deck Disclosure & Care Instructions

 

General Protection

    •    Do not drag heavy objects across the surface.

    •    Do not extinguish cigarettes on the surface.

    •    Remove spills and organic material (leaves, debris) promptly to prevent staining.

    •    Avoid direct contact with rubber, pressure-treated wood, or cedar.

    •    Use plastic foot pads under furniture and trays under planters.

    •    Place protection under BBQs to prevent grease staining.

 

Snow & Ice

    •    Use only a plastic shovel for snow removal.

    •    Rock salt, kitty litter, and other melting chemicals may be used, but the surface must be cleaned thoroughly with soap and water before spring sunlight can “bake” chemicals into the coating.

 

General Cleaning

    •    Clean the surface at least four times per year, more often in areas with acid rain or pollution.

    •    Use warm water, a stiff broom, and gentle cleaners; scrub in circular motions.

    •    Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose or pressure washer (max 1500 PSI, 40° nozzle, 12” minimum distance).

    •    Avoid railing attachments and flush thoroughly with clean water.

 

Stain Removal

    •    For tough stains, contact Armour Coat Surfaces for assistance.

    •    Cleaning agents are used at your own risk; always test in an unseen area first.

    •    Do not use harsh abrasives, steel wool, lacquer solvents, or undiluted bleach.

    •    Do not rub stains aggressively; dab gently and rinse thoroughly.

    •    Never clean in direct sunlight or when the surface is hot to the touch.

    •    Waxes and certain cleaners may cause discoloration or coating damage.

 

 

5. Important Notes

    •    Armour Coat Surfaces is not responsible for damage caused by improper cleaning methods or incompatible products.

    •    All cleaning solutions must be rinsed thoroughly with clean water.

    •    Cleaning and maintenance must be performed regularly for warranty coverage to remain valid.

 

 

6. Warranty Claims

 

To make a warranty claim, the Client must:

    1.    Provide written notice of the issue within 30 days of discovery.

    2.    Allow Armour Coat Surfaces reasonable access to inspect and test the surface.

    3.    Not attempt self-repair or hire third parties before Armour Coat Surfaces has inspected the claimed defect.

 

 

7. Limitation of Liability

 

This warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the defective resurfacing product or system, at Armour Coat Surfaces’ discretion. Under no circumstances shall Armour Coat Surfaces be liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages.

 

Epoxy

Armor Coat Surfaces – Installation Warranty

 

 

 

Residential Installation Warranty

 

 

Armor Coat Surfaces guarantees the quality of our epoxy flake flooring systems with polyaspartic clear coats. For all residential installations, we provide a 5-Year Limited Installation Warranty.

 

What We Cover:

 

  • Proper adhesion of the coating system to the prepared concrete surface.

  • Peeling, lifting, or delamination caused by installation defects.

  • Clear coat yellowing or excessive discoloration under normal household use.

 

 

What’s Not Covered:

 

  • Damage from impact, dragging appliances, or dropping heavy/sharp objects.

  • Surface scratches, scuffing, or normal wear and tear.

  • Hot-tire pickup from vehicles.

  • Cracking caused by structural movement or concrete settlement.

  • Moisture vapor transmission or hydrostatic pressure from the slab.

  • Chemical spills including gasoline, brake fluid, battery acid, or harsh solvents.

  • Improper care, neglect, or use of abrasive/acidic cleaners.

  • Natural variations in decorative flake layout or color.

 

 

Our Remedy:

If a valid warranty issue is confirmed, Armor Coat Surfaces will repair or re-coat the affected area at our discretion. Full replacement of the floor system is not guaranteed under this warranty.

 

 

 

 

Commercial Installation Warranty

 

 

Armor Coat Surfaces provides a 2-Year Limited Installation Warranty on all commercial and industrial installations.

 

What We Cover:

 

  • Adhesion and bonding of the coating system to the prepared substrate.

  • Peeling or delamination caused by installation or material failure.

  • Premature discoloration of the polyaspartic clear coat under normal operating conditions.

 

 

What’s Not Covered:

 

  • Wear or damage from forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, or heavy machinery.

  • Impact damage from dropped tools, equipment, or sharp objects.

  • Concrete substrate cracking, spalling, or defects beyond our control.

  • Moisture vapor or hydrostatic pressure issues.

  • Aggressive chemical spills outside the system’s rated resistance.

  • Neglect, abuse, or failure to properly maintain the floor.

  • Aesthetic issues such as gloss loss or flake distribution differences.

 

 

Our Remedy:

Armor Coat Surfaces’ responsibility is limited to repairing or re-coating the affected area at our discretion.

 

 

 

 

General Installation Warranty Terms

 

 

  • All warranty claims are subject to an on-site inspection by Armor Coat Surfaces.

  • This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

  • Damage caused by acts of nature (flood, fire, earthquake, etc.) is excluded.
